Mobilising political leadership to accelerate quality education for all

The International Parliamentary Network for Education (IPNEd) works with individual parliamentarians along with groups of parliamentarians at the national, regional and global levels.

Political commitment to practical action for education

Education lights every stage of the journey to a better life. It is essential for the realisation of individual potential, national economic growth, social development and for fostering global citizenship.

In 2015, the international community committed to include a goal on education, SDG 4, among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to be achieved by 2030. The commitment was to ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’.

With less than ten years to go, that promise is at serious risk.

Even when children are in school, they aren’t learning

IPNEd works to ensure that every child is in school and receiving a quality education.

Foundational literacy and numeracy skills are the bedrock for later learning and essential for children to thrive later in school and life.

The Network consists of 450+ parliamentarians from over 90 parliaments around the world who are committed to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 - Quality Education - through increasing the funding, quality and equity of education globally.

The International Parliamentary Network for Education is open to any parliamentarian who is committed to inclusive and equitable quality education and subscribes to the values outlined in IPNEd’s Declaration. IPNEd is non-partisan and non-party political.
